Welcome to the stage the “Most Feared Swing Band in the Bay Area”…
Lee Presson and the Brass Nails!
.
Who else could swing you into midnight with such a steamy flair?? Lee Presson and the Nails will be performing as the “Pit Band” for our Airship Home Companion on Saturday night, March 26th and will close out the show with a full hour performance.
Not “Steampunk enough”, you say? If the Nails are known for anything, it’s defying tradition and description. In 1996 The San Francisco Chronicle described LPN by coining the term “Goth Swing.” The band won a California Music Award (Bammie) in 1998 for Best Swing/Cabaret Act, and an SF Weekly Award for Best Swing Band later that year. In recent years, the band has expanded their repertoire into Cabaret andBallroom, playing the Hubba Hubba Review and the Period Events & Entertainments Re-Creation Society (PEERS) balls. LPN has been together (with a brief hiatus) since 1994 and have 5 CDs to their credit, including their brand new downloadable album, Balls in Your Face, a compendium of Ballroom music in true LPN style!
.
They’ve been called a lot of things in the past – and now we’re calling them OURS for the night, so come enjoy the show! An Airship Home Companion will begin at 8:00pm on Saturday night, March 26th.
